The State Department has announced the opening of the program known as Visa Lottery concerning Fiscal Year 2021 (DV-2021.)
On Thursday, September 19, the State Department announced that it will draw up to a maximum of 55,000 diversity visas known as the Visa Lottery for fiscal year 2021. The registration process will begin on Wednesday, October 2 through Tuesday, November 5 of this year.
As is generally knowledge, this Diversity Visa program provides the path for permanent residence to nationals or countries of origin with low immigration rates to the US in the last 5 years. The selected person has the right to request it during the fiscal year between October 1, 2020 and September 30, 2021.
Among the requirements to participate are:
Born in a country that qualifies for the Visa Lottery Program. The participant is also required to have graduated from secondary education or its equivalent, or have 2 years of work experience in an occupation that requires at least 2 years of training within the last 5 years.
What must be done to participate in the Visa Lottery Program?
Send the registration form to dvlottery.state.gov – only one registration per person is allowed, otherwise you will be disqualified. The candidate, registering online must print the name and confirmation number for later verification.
People who live in the US with nonimmigrant status can also participate, provided they are not on the list of non-participating countries.
Participants will be required to have a valid and valid passport.
Countries excluded from participating in the Program for the year 2021 are:
Bangladesh, Brazil, Canada, China (those born in the Chinese continent), Colombia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, India, Jamaica, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Philippines, South Korea, United Kingdom (except Ireland North and its dependent territories and Vietnam.
