Last days to register for TPS program for El Salvador

Today we want to tell you about an important deadline that is fast approaching. If you are Salvadoran and a beneficiary of Temporary Protected Status (TPS), pay attention.

The TPS re-registration process for Salvadorans began on July 12, and the deadline for registration is September 10. This is great news for those who already have TPS and wish to renew it. The Biden Administration has extended TPS for El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal and Nicaragua until July 5, 2025. This extension provides relief for TPS beneficiaries in Florida who were concerned about a new state immigration law SB 1718.

If you already have TPS, you can apply for a free restoration. It is important to remember that this TPS extension is for 18 months, so those who wish to renew must re-register for the program. The extension dates vary by country, so it is essential to be informed about the corresponding deadlines.

Despite these advances, the Biden administration still faces challenges in delivering on its immigration promises. The extremist wing of the Republican Party is generating internal conflicts. However, it is important to note that DHS (Department of Homeland Security) has extended TPS for individuals from Nicaragua, El Salvador, Haiti, Nepal, Sudan and Honduras until June 30, 2024.

That is why it is important that if you are Salvadoran and a TPS beneficiary, I invite you not to miss this opportunity. Take advantage of the last days to register for the program and secure your immigration status in the United States.
