Under this executive action, what is being worked on is a plan to limit the number of people applying for asylum. If there are more than an average of 5000 people applying for asylum per day in a given week, then any applicant after that or above that number will not be able to apply for asylum. In addition, if 8500 people have applied for asylum in one day, then the government can close the U.S.-Mexico border and completely restrict asylum seekers at the border.
