OUR JOURNEY

2000

It all began when I came to this great country in the year 2000. As a first-generation immigrant, it was difficult to adapt to a new country, a new way of life, a new language and different laws.

Although my humble beginnings were difficult, in the long run, they allowed me to have a better understanding of the complexity of our nation’s laws and the need for adequate and professional legal services.

2009

In 2009, while I studied Criminal Justice, I was detained by immigration officials and was held at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility. At the detention center, I met many people that were going through the same experience I was going through. There, I spent time with people of all religions, races, and cultures who wished to fulfill their American dream but for some reason or another were not able to. That experience inspired me to become an honest attorney that would zealously protect and defend the rights of immigrants in the United States.

After days of being detained and after I had lost all hope, God did a miracle. Through Him and the heroic effort of community leaders I was set free. Since then, I have done everything I can to help the immigrant community thrive in the United States, so that they – just like me, are able to achieve that American Dream. It is my hope and desire to help the immigrant and non-immigrant community thrive in the United States while blessing a country that has done so much for so many around the world.

After finishing High School, I continued my studies at Miami Dade College where I earned an Associate’s degree in International Studies and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. I then went on to earn my Juris Doctorate at Liberty University School of Law in Lynchburg, Virginia.

It should also be noted that before, during and after my studies, I dedicated myself to work in several law firms, especially in the area of immigration. I also had the opportunity to help the immigrant community several non-profit organizations such as America for Immigrant Justice and the Catholic Charity Refugee Center in Roanoke, Virginia.

I am currently married to my best friend, Laura Reyes, and thankfully we are the parents to two beautiful girls: Abigail and Emma Reyes.
