President Donald Trump signed a new executive order related to the U.S. financial system that could impact some immigrants without legal status.
According to the White House, the measure seeks to increase oversight of bank accounts, financial transfers, and certain services used by individuals who do not have legal authorization in the United States. The order also mentions reviews related to financial documents such as ITIN numbers.
Although the order does not say that all bank accounts will automatically be closed, many people are concerned about possible new regulations and verification requirements in the coming months.
