Notice of Appearance
It all starts with a Notice to Appear. This document informs you of the date, time and place where you must appear before the immigration judge for your preliminary hearing. It is crucial to attend this hearing, as it is the first step in defending your case.
At the preliminary hearing, also known as a “Master Hearing,” you will have the opportunity to talk to the judge about the basics of your case. Although not every detail will be discussed, this hearing is essential to establishing the foundation of your defense. After the preliminary hearing, we will work together to prepare your case for the final hearing, known as the “Individual Hearing” or “Merit Hearing”.
