A recent federal ruling regarding DACA leaves this program in a limbo.
Basically, a federal court has decided that the program is not lawful. However, he has not decided to strike down the program.
As a matter of fact, a recent court decision allowed for the A program to be transferred to a lower federal court.
Now, it will be up to that federal court to determine whether the DACA program will remain in place.
As many of you know, DACA is a program that protects thousands of young immigrants and allows them to stay legally in the country despite the fact that they don’t have lawful status.
So, it provides them with lawful status. As it stands today, only applicants that were already approved are able to renew their applications.
New applicants, unfortunately, will not be able to apply until there is a final determination on this case.
