Introduction

The Law Office of Jesus Reyes, PLLC ("the Firm", "we") operates the website jesusreyeslaw.com. This policy describes what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what your rights are.

By using this site or signing up for any of our services, you accept the practices described in this policy.

Information we collect

We collect personal information in the following situations:

• When you complete a contact, consultation, or case-intake form (name, address, phone, email, information about your immigration or legal situation). • When you subscribe to our newsletter or register for events, courses, or consultations (email, preferred language, interests). • When you purchase products, pay fees, or register for a paid event (billing data — payments are processed by Stripe and we do not store your card number). • When you create a client portal account (email, hashed password, your case history). • When you visit the site (technical data: IP address, browser, pages viewed, referrer).

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide legal services and respond to your inquiries. • Process payments, appointments, event registrations, and course deliveries. • Send you transactional communications (confirmations, reminders, receipts, attorney responses, electronic tickets with QR codes for events). • Send you, only with your explicit consent, newsletters, legal updates, and automated educational campaigns related to immigration topics. • Improve the site, prevent fraud, and comply with legal and professional ethical obligations.

Email and SMS communications

When you subscribe to our newsletter, sign up for a consultation, event, or course, we may send you:

• Transactional confirmations (receipts, appointment reminders, QR-code tickets, replies to your messages). • Educational newsletters and updates — only with your explicit consent. • Automated drip campaigns with content relevant to your interest (for example, a series on the asylum process if you requested asylum information). These campaigns are sent only if you have subscribed and you can unsubscribe at any time. • Appointment and event reminders. • Post-consultation follow-up.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any marketing email, or by visiting your account area. Transactional emails (receipts, appointment confirmations, legal replies) will continue because they are necessary to deliver the service you have requested.

If we activate SMS communications in the future, you will first receive a message asking for your explicit consent before any commercial SMS is sent. You can reply STOP at any time to cancel. Standard messaging rates from your carrier may apply.

Payment processing (Stripe)

Payments on the site — fees, store products, paid event registrations, and courses — are processed by Stripe, Inc. Stripe collects and processes payment information (card number, expiration date, security code) directly within its PCI DSS–certified secure infrastructure. The Firm does not store your full card number.

We retain only the last four digits of the card, the card brand, and the transaction identifier for our accounting records. For more information see Stripe's privacy policy at https://stripe.com/privacy.

Events and QR-code tickets

When you register for an event, we generate an electronic ticket with a unique QR code that we email to you. The QR code contains an internal identifier (not your personal information in plain text) and is used solely to verify your attendance on the day of the event.

We retain attendance records for a reasonable period (typically up to 24 months) for follow-up, accounting, and reporting purposes. After that period, associated personal data may be anonymized or deleted.

Cookies and analytics

We use essential cookies to:

• Keep you signed in to the client portal. • Remember your preferred language (Spanish or English). • Provide shopping-cart and checkout functionality.

With your consent, we may also use analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel) to understand how visitors use the site and to improve our content. These cookies activate only if you accept the cookie notice shown on your first visit.

You can revoke your consent at any time by clearing your browser storage or by contacting us. You can also configure your browser to reject all cookies — note that some site functionality may not be available.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with:

• Service providers needed to operate the site: Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Google reCAPTCHA (spam prevention), Twilio (SMS — if activated in the future). • Government authorities when required by law or when necessary to protect legal rights. • Other attorneys or experts when necessary for your case, with your prior authorization.

Each of these providers complies with its own data-protection rules.

Your rights over your information

You have the right to:

• Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you. • Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information. • Deletion: request the deletion of your personal information (subject to legal and professional case-file retention obligations). • Portability: receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format. • Cancel marketing communications: at any time, via the "Unsubscribe" link or by contacting us. • Withdraw consent: for any processing based on your consent.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contacto@jesusreyeslaw.com. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law (typically 30 days).

California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including:

• Right to know what personal information we collect, use, and share. • Right to request the deletion of your personal information. • Right to correct inaccurate information. • Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information — we do not sell personal information, but you can opt out of analytics cookies at any time. • Right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

To exercise these rights, contact us at contacto@jesusreyeslaw.com with the subject "CCPA Request".

Data retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy and to comply with our legal and ethical obligations:

• Legal case files: for as long as required by applicable professional ethics rules (typically at least 5 years after case closure, often longer). • Billing and payment data: 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. • Newsletter subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a reasonable record-retention period. • Event registration and attendance records: up to 24 months. • Server log data: typically 90 days.

After applicable retention periods, data is securely deleted or anonymized.

Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information: encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest for sensitive credentials, role-based access control, and periodic audits. No internet transmission method is 100% secure, but we strive to protect your information using commercially acceptable means.

Children's privacy

Our site is not directed to persons under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Links to third-party sites

This site may contain links to websites operated by third parties. We have no control over the content, privacy policies, or practices of those sites and assume no responsibility for them. We recommend that you review the privacy policy of every site you visit.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the site after posting constitutes acceptance of the changes.
