Starting October 20, 2025, USCIS will implement a new, more demanding naturalization exam.
Summary of the changes:
More studying required: the question bank increases to 128 questions.
Longer exam: applicants will be asked 20 questions during the interview.
Higher passing score: applicants will need 12 correct answers to pass.
These changes apply to all applications filed on or after October 20, 2025.
