The Supreme Court confirmed the right to American birthright citizenship for all persons born in the United States, regardless of their parents' immigration status. With this decision, the Court ruled against the initiative that sought to limit this right.
This means that children of parents who may not have legal status in the country will continue to be considered American citizens, as long as they were born on U.S. territory. The only exception is the children of diplomatic personnel.
I know this news brings great joy and hope to many families. If you have questions about this decision or any immigration matter, I invite you to contact our firm.
