We regret the inappropriate conduct of some immigrants — asylum seekers — who were provided with housing, assistance, and shelter in the United States, specifically in New York City. Rather than being grateful, they criticized the country that welcomed them, demanding additional accommodations through violence and with total disregard for the authorities. We regret these actions, and we know that these individuals do not represent the majority of immigrants in this country, who through sacrifice and hard work have been able to move forward.
