A new travel ban has been announced, taking effect on Monday, June 9.
Generally Affected: Most countries in the Middle East and Africa (full ban).
Cuba and Venezuela: PARTIAL ban.
Nonimmigrant visas (tourist, student) still available but with more restrictions.
Immigrant visas (family/employment petitions) temporarily suspended.
Key Exceptions: Dual nationality (if one nationality permits entry), lawful permanent residents, citizens, asylees/refugees, and those who obtained a visa BEFORE June 9. (The latter may face additional questioning upon entry).
Venezuelan TPS: Travel permits issued BEFORE the ban remain valid, but greater scrutiny is expected upon re-entry.
Important: This measure does NOT affect people already in the U.S. It applies to entries starting June 9.
Legal challenges to this decision are anticipated. We recommend seeking legal advice to understand your immigration options.
