Increased Actions to Prevent Foreigners Who Stay Beyond the Time Allowed

The Trump Administration increases actions to prevent foreigners with a “Nonimmigrant” visa from staying in the US beyond the time allowed.

Indeed, the Federal Government has been reinforcing the surveillance system throughout the national territory so that foreigners with a “Non-Immigrant” visa do not exceed the planned time of stay as authorized by the immigration agencies. In this regard, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and its Customs and Border Protection Office (CBP) have strengthened the Arrival and Departure Information System (ADIS), with the purpose of not allowing foreigners with “Nonimmigrant” visas – that is, students, tourists, or employees, establish themselves in the country, allowing their visas or documents to expire.

The information of these foreigners is shared with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service (ICE) in order to intertwine information about them once they reach US soil. A crossing of information is made that allows you to focus on each person who enters, opening a file or complete travel history; completing this with the use of the capacity of the system with the biometric information that the immigration authorities have to extend the monitoring, even of citizens, according to unofficial information.

Information from the Arrival and Departure System (ADIS) will assist all National Security agencies to contact and identify individuals who have settled beyond the allowed time.
