El Salvador Deportations and Due Process

There is no debate that those who pose a genuine threat should face justice. The problem begins when due process is ignored. Deportations to El Salvador are taking place today, apparently without clear evidence or individual case review. People who have not committed crimes may be sent to maximum-security prisons. Without minimum guarantees, it is still impossible to know whether all deportees are truly members of criminal gangs or whether innocent people are serving unjust sentences.
