Under this proposal, work permits would no longer be automatic for these groups. Instead, the person would have to demonstrate a substantial financial need, a humanitarian reason, or an emergency that justifies employment authorization.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who would NOT be affected?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is important to clarify that this measure would not directly affect people with asylum cases, adjustment of status, immigrant visas, or other categories not mentioned.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every immigration case is different.
