For example, the N-400 form to apply for Naturalization went from $640 to $1,170, an increase of 81%.<\/p>\n<p>Likewise, petitions for H-1B and L-1 foreign workers went up 75%, as well as extensions to the immigration status of students and fianc\u00e9es of U.S. citizens.<\/p>\n<p>While some adjustments took effect immediately, others will be implemented in the coming weeks, such as green card renewals and changes of status for non-immigrants.<\/p>\n<p>Increased costs of immigration procedures cause great concern.
