One of the following three scenarios may occur:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. You and your family may be immediately processed by U.S. Border Patrol (CBP) agents and they may then release you and your family so that (Quite possibly) you will have the opportunity to present your case in front of an Immigration Judge in the United States.<\/li>\n
  2. There is a possibility that the port of entry you went to may not be receiving new asylum seekers, and you may have to try another time or apply for asylum at another port of entry between the United States and Mexico. There are more than 60 ports of entry on the U.S.-Mexico border. For ports of entry and waiting times, visit https:\/\/bwt.cbp.gov\/<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  3. You and your family may gain entry and part of your family or your entire family may be detained in an immigration detention center in the United States. Although the policy of the current administration of President Biden is to NOT separate families, this practice continues to occur. However, even if you or your family members are detained by immigration agents, there are legal mechanisms that may allow you to be released.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
